THE DISCURSIVE INSTANCE "I" IN THE NARRATIVES OF THE SUBJECT LP

ABSTRACT
This dissertation is based on longitudinal follow-up data with subject LP, female, 74 years old, with a clinical diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. The objective is to analyze, from the point of view of the Enunciative-discursive Neurolinguística, the processes of reconstitution of the discursive instance "I" through narratives of the life history. In order to do so, we start with the following question: what processes do the subject of LP throw through narratives of their life history and memories enable the reconstitution of self-narrative? The hypothesis that guides this study argues that narrative is one of the strategies used in contexts of verbal interaction with the objective of resisting and preserving its social image in the process of dementia. According to Benveniste (1966), through language man is constituted as a subject, being so organized that it allows each speaker to appropriate specific indexes produced in and by the enunciation that serve as subsidies to reveal subjectivity in language. The discussions [in this work], in addition to being based on the studies of Émile Benveniste (1966, 1976), in the field of enunciation and subjectivity, are supported mainly by Maria Irma Hadler Coudry (1983, 1988, 1990, 2001), Rosana do Carmo Novaes Pinto and Hudson Marcel Bracher Beilke (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010), Ivone Panhoca (2013), Rosana Landi (2009), among others works in the area of the Neuro-linguistic Enunciative-discursive that based the bases of this dissertation. In the methodological approach, we work with a longitudinal follow-up of the LP subject. The meetings took place in the Neurolinguistic Research and Studies Laboratory of the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics of the State University of Southwest of Bahia, being based on an enunciative-discursive perspective of the narrativity of life stories and rescues of memories. The results evidenced the processes that permeate the relation of LP as a subject, constituted in and by language, with the disease. As the old woman narrates her life stories, she institutes the formal present through the inherent gift of enunciation, which is renewed with each production of discourse, becoming an important means for understanding the subjective dimensions of what was narrated as something lived by the subject.
